The Science Writing and Communications Program Coordinator translates research from the South Carolina Clinical and Translational Research Institute (SCTR) into engaging content suitable for diverse audiences, including scientific and laypersons, students, collaborators, and sponsors. SCTR, an NIH-funded statewide institute, offers expertise, resources, training, and funding to support research teams. Our mission is to accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into clinical and public health practices to enhance community health across SC and beyond.
The coordinator reports to the SCTR Science Development Officer and is part of the SCTR Communications Team, which manages strategic communication initiatives. The role involves working in a dynamic, creative environment to bolster SCTR’s stakeholder relationships and reputation. We seek candidates with experience in science communication and digital media skills.
Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant program experience.
This position is primarily remote, with in-person meetings as needed. Physical and sensory requirements include standard office functions, with occasional outdoor work. The role offers a salary range of $46,655 to $86,321, with full-time hours.
