Job summary

Starr Insurance is seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to support senior management in a fast‑paced, global commercial insurance environment. The role emphasizes calendar coordination, communications, document preparation, and maintaining strict confidentiality.

You will collaborate across teams, organize internal and external events, assist with budgeting and reporting, and help maintain orderly files.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Executive Assistant reporting directly to senior management.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, with an ability to become familiar with firm-specific programs and software.
  • Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities.
  • Developing financial analysis skills, strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Friendly and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate executive communications, including taking calls, responding to emails and interfacing with clients, brokers and other executives
  • Prepare internal and external corporate documents for team members and industry partners
  • Arrange corporate events to take place outside of the work place (internal and external social functions, hosted events, etc.)
  • Maintain an organized filing system of paper and electronic documents
  • Oversee department T&E reporting and approval processes
  • Complete budget and expense analysis for the department, regular reporting cycles for actual vs. budget, and quarterly variance analysis
  • Track and maintain financial and operating goals by distribution channel, working closely with senior executives to overlay priorities with actual results
  • Uphold a strict level of confidentiality
  • Develop and sustain a level of professionalism among staff and clientele
