Job summary

Stanley Consultants is seeking a seasoned Structural Department Manager for our Denver, CO office. You will lead a high-performing team focused on Colorado transportation structures, shaping design plans and delivery strategies.

You will mentor staff, manage staffing needs, and partner with leadership on growth initiatives, RFQs, and proposals. A PE in CO and extensive bridge experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of relevant professional experience.
• Minimum 5 years at the Project Manager level.
• Active PE license in Colorado.
• Recent structural design experience with Colorado DOT and local government projects.
• Experience preparing bridge design documents for roadways and waterways.
• Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD, AREMA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing team focused on expanding Colorado transportation structural market.
• Lead and mentor staff on projects, including development of design plans for transportation structures.
• Assess staffing needs and recommend hiring actions for department growth.
• Develop and implement strategic growth initiatives with leadership.
• Support proposal writing and marketing for transportation opportunities.
• Participate in project scoping, fee estimating, and negotiations.
• Provide department status, performance updates, and forecasts to Group Manager.
• Coordinate project priorities and staffing to meet deadlines.
• Prepare reports, specifications, plans, schedules, and cost estimates.
• Perform QA/QC reviews and follow QA/QC standards.
• Review projects for procedures, budgets, and progress billings.
• Oversee and manage department projects and client meetings for approvals.
