Orion Placement is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3+ years of litigation experience for a full-time on-site role in Denver, Colorado. You will handle sophisticated insurance-related and commercial litigation from pre-litigation through trial and appeal, with direct client interaction and meaningful responsibility.

The ideal candidate will hold a JD from an ABA-accredited law school, possess an active Colorado Bar license, and demonstrate exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active Colorado Bar license required.
• 3+ years of litigation experience required.
• Insurance defense or insurance-related litigation experience strongly preferred.
• Deposition, motion practice, and court hearing experience preferred.
• Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage matters in a fast-paced litigation environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, collegial approach.
• Comfortable using technology to work efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters from initial analysis and client recommendations through trial and appeal.
• Investigate and defend first- and third-party insurance claims.
• Take and defend depositions and examinations under oath.
• Draft dispositive motions, briefs, pleadings, and other substantive legal documents.
• Represent clients at hearings in Colorado state and federal courts.
• Conduct sophisticated legal research and develop practical litigation strategies.
• Analyze insurance coverage issues and prepare coverage opinions when applicable.
• Communicate directly with clients and provide clear, strategic recommendations.
• Manage multiple active matters while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
