Job summary

Cobar in Denver, Colorado is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join our team and take an active role in managing cases from initial investigation through resolution. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, organized, detail-oriented, and able to own assigned matters while collaborating with the firm.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active Colorado Bar admission and ability to practice law in Colorado.
• 1–2 years of relevant legal experience preferred.
• Litigation experience preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and competing priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a collaborative legal team.
• Professional judgment, organization, and a commitment to providing quality legal representation.

Responsibilities

• Investigating claims, facts, evidence, and legal issues.
• Evaluating cases and developing litigation strategies.
• Conducting legal research and analysis.
• Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Managing discovery, including written discovery, document review, depositions, and discovery disputes.
• Preparing for and participating in hearings, conferences, mediations, and other court proceedings.
• Preparing cases for pretrial and trial.
• Participating in settlement negotiations and mediations.
• Communicating with clients regarding case status, strategy, and legal issues.
• Working with paralegals and other members of the legal team to efficiently manage cases.
• Maintaining accurate case files, deadlines, calendars, and litigation tasks.
• Handling matters through resolution, including trial and appeal when applicable.
