Job summary

Markel Group in Denver, CO seeks an Associate Business Development Specialist to grow premium with small commercial agencies. The role drives relationships, educates agents, and targets new business via calls and virtual meetings.

You will travel regionally, develop product knowledge, and collaborate with regional support teams to meet production goals. This is a production-based, associate-level desk role with potential to advance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with some college coursework preferred.
• 1 year of insurance experience preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute Markel’s business plan for the assigned region and provide regular feedback on relationships and marketplace.
• Focus on distributing Small Commercial products and understand Markel’s broader product suite.
• Write new business as opportunities are identified through outbound calls and virtual agent meetings.
• Achieve weekly production and virtual meeting targets set by leadership.
• Travel quarterly to visit agencies in the assigned region and self-manage these itineraries.
• Develop product and organizational knowledge to provide accurate advice to customers.
