Job summary

Catering By Design, a division of Compass Group USA, is seeking an Event Designer in Denver, CO. This hybrid role combines creative event design with business development, from initial concept to execution. Youll write menus, craft décor layouts and secure new accounts while growing existing business.

Salary range $65,000 to $100,000+ with base plus commission; option to start at $65k for up to six months, then base plus commission. Company car allowance provided; in-office two days per week.

Qualifications

• Hospitality experience in catering or events.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Proven success selling and executing corporate/social events.
• Ability to grow business through referrals and proposals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of rental equipment and culinary terms.
• Strong multitasking and time management skills.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Develop new business through referrals, outreach and marketing campaigns to meet or exceed revenue goals.
• Plan promotions and business development initiatives.
• Create proposals combining menus, décor layouts and creative details.
• Negotiate contracts and manage budgets.
• Secure signed contracts and event details.
• Attend events and supervise on-site teams.
• Collaborate with clients and vendors to execute the event plan.
