Job summary

Grady Health System is seeking a Dentist to oversee assessment and management of dental problems for the IDP patient population within the Grady Health System. The role includes mentoring residents and dental hygienists, and participating in HIV-related dental research under the Director of Oral Health Services.

The ideal candidate holds a DMD or DDS, is eligible for Georgia licensure, and works collaboratively with oral health specialists to deliver comprehensive care in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• General dentistry practice experience required, including HIV-related dental care.
• DMD or DDS degree and GA licensure eligibility.
• Experience collaborating with oral health specialists and understanding HIV-related dental issues.

Responsibilities

• Oversee assessment and management of dental problems for the IDP patient population and referrals within Grady Health System.
• Lead and direct work of dental hygienists and residents.
• Mentor and evaluate staff and residents with ongoing competency checks.
• Maintain credentials for dispensing medications and ensure proper documentation and timely reporting.
• Support research activities related to dental issues of HIV-infected persons and grant activities as assigned.
