Job summary

Family Dental LLC in South Carolina is seeking a Dental Treatment Coordinator to bridge patients with care providers, explain treatment options and financial responsibilities, and coordinate appointments to enhance experience and acceptance.

You will work with dentists, assistants and staff to streamline workflows, verify benefits, explain costs, and help patients understand their dental coverage while maintaining HIPAA compliance and delivering top-tier customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a dental office; patient coordination role preferred.
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes.
• Proficiency with dental practice management software (Dentrix / Eaglesoft).
• Experience with dental insurance claims and verification systems.
• HIPAA familiarity and patient confidentiality standards.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Background in customer service or sales; ability to guide patients through decisions.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for patients regarding treatment plans, financial options, and appointment scheduling.
• Explain dental procedures, treatment plans, and associated costs clearly and compassionately to patients.
• Maintain patient records and confidentiality according to HIPAA.
• Address objections and negotiate treatment plans and costs.
• Verify insurance benefits and assist patients in understanding coverage and out-of-pocket expenses.
• Stay current on local and national government dental coverage options to understand eligibility for insurance.
• Explain dental terminology and convey the importance of oral hygiene and treatment.
• Schedule appointments, treatment plan consultations, and post-treatment follow-ups.
• Submit insurance applications and documents to insurance companies.
• Streamline office operations and communication between patients, staff and dentists.
• Help patients track and follow payment schedules.
• Assist with treatment plan acceptance and understanding of benefits.
• Provide top-tier patient/customer service and satisfaction.
• Deescalate patient grievances effectively as needed.

About The Role

The Dental Treatment Coordinator plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between patients and dental care providers by facilitating clear communication and ensuring patients understand their treatment options and financial responsibilities.
