Job summary

Avon Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the surgeon during consultations and procedures at our Avon, IN location. You will assist with patient seating, pre-op and post-op care, and ensure accuracy of treatment plans and consent forms.

In this role you will maintain infection control, monitor anesthesia as needed, document charts, and support the team to deliver an exceptional patient experience while upholding OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum CPR certification required.
• Dental Radiology license required.
• Oral and Maxillofacial Assisting certification preferred.
• Hepatitis B vaccination and TB vaccination/titer recommended.

Responsibilities

• Surgical support: assist the doctor during surgeries, seat patients, and monitor vitals.
• Provide clear pre-operative and post-operative instructions to patients.
• Adhere to OSHA and radiation safety guidelines; ensure proper exposure and positioning for radiographs.
• Record keeping and documentation of charts and consent forms.
• Maintain and sterilize equipment and instruments; ensure readiness for procedures.
• Maintain rapport with patients and team; assist in conflict resolution.
• Protect patient privacy and confidentiality per policy.
• Enhance patient experience and comfort throughout visit.
• Adapt to changing duties and schedules as needed.
