Job summary

Risas Dental and Braces is seeking a friendly Sterilization Technician to join our team. You will decontaminate, clean, and sterilize instruments and equipment, assemble instrument sets, and support Dental Assistants and Doctors in patient care. The role emphasizes aseptic technique, regulatory compliance, and teamwork.

The position offers 12-hour shifts, three days a week, with medical/vision benefits and opportunities for growth in dental assisting and orthodontic roles.

Qualifications

• Bilingual Spanish/English required.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Physically capable of transporting supplies and equipment.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of dental clinical operations and terminology preferred.
• Ability to work within a team environment and lend support to team members as needed.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for decontamination and cleaning of all equipment and instruments; ensures cleanliness and sterility of all instruments.
• Accurately assembles instrument sets based on established count sheets; effectively uses materials and supplies while minimizing waste
• Appropriately prepares and packages single instrument items, differentiating items requiring steam versus gas sterilization
• Stores, delivers, and manages sterile supplies using aseptic technique
• Evaluates functioning of equipment; reports malfunctions and follows through to ensure repairs are complete and maintenance performed
• Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing treatment rooms after each use
• Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations, (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA, and Risas policies and practices)
• Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned
