Position Details

Title: Dental Receptionist

Location: San Andreas, California

Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

Starting Salary: $23.56 - $26.56 per hour

Position Summary

This role involves providing support services to the dental and finance departments. The incumbent works under general supervision, demonstrating awareness of Native American traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs, and maintaining tact, courtesy, discretion, and good judgment in sensitive interactions.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Screen and refer all phone calls to designated staff.
  • Adhere to the Privacy Act as outlined by federal or state law.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, cancellations, and reappointments.
  • Assist callers professionally and courteously.
  • Ensure patient information is accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain logs of outside referrals and lab cases.
  • Make referral appointments as needed.
  • Verify insurance information and estimate treatment costs.
  • Collect copays, fees, or charges; process payments and provide receipts.
  • Coordinate with the finance department regarding patient financial responsibilities.
  • Order and maintain clerical supplies.
  • Handle financial transactions securely and in accordance with MACT policies.
  • Coordinate referrals within the organization.
  • Perform clerical tasks as directed by the Dental Director or Site Manager.
  • Follow MACT's Corporate Code of Conduct.
  • Utilize Next Gen and QSI software, along with email and other digital tools.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and all organizational policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience as a dental receptionist.
  • Extensive knowledge of dental procedures, coding, and scheduling.
  • Excellent computer skills and adaptability to new programs.
  • Ability to multitask and possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Punctuality and ability to work full-time.
  • Knowledge of dental billing and insurance processes.
  • Ability to work independently.
Mandatory Requirements
  • Pass occupational health screening.
  • Valid identification as per U.S. Department of Justice I-9 verification.
  • Clean driving record and valid auto insurance.
