Brown University Athletics and Recreation is seeking an Operations Coordinator for Wrestling to oversee the day-to-day operations of the program in Providence, RI. You will assist the Head Coach with planning and promoting a championship-caliber Ivy League program.

Responsibilities

  • Organize the day-to-day operations of the wrestling program.
  • Assist the Head Coach in planning, developing, and promoting a championship caliber Ivy League program.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and scheduling for wrestling activities.
  • Monitor compliance with NCAA, Ivy League and Brown policies.
  • Support student-athlete welfare and academic goals.
  • Provide basic data analysis and presentations as needed.

Brown University Athletics and Recreation is seeking candidates for the Operations Coordinator, Wrestling position.

Location: Providence, Rhode Island

Salary: $25.00 hourly

Brown University Athletics and Recreation is seeking candidates for the Operations Coordinator, Wrestling position. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 38 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes who participate within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA-DI).

The Wrestling Operations Coordinator reports to the Wrestling Head Coach and is responsible for the organization of the day-to-day efficient operation of the Brown Wrestling program. Assists the Head Coach in all phases of planning, developing, and promoting a championship caliber Ivy League program.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree required.

1-2 years related experience in NCAA wrestling (collegiate playing, coaching or operations); Division I experience preferred.

Business background, preferred.

Experience planning and organizing team travel, preferred.

High attention to detail, necessary

Demonstrated ability to interact positively with student-athletes, parents, alumni, colleagues and the public.

Strong commitment to the welfare of student-athletes.

Ability to independently coordinate multiple tasks at one time.

Strong analytical and presentation skills combined with the ability to successfully interact with diverse individuals from both University and community related constituencies for maximizing University & Divisional goals, objectives, relationships & representation.

Basic proficiency in excel, word, internet & email capabilities.

Established history of quality relationships with staff, coaches, student-athletes, alumni, parents, etc. preferred.

Prior experience with video editing software, helpful.

Knowledge and understanding of, and commitment to comply with, NCAA, Ivy League and University rules and regulations.

The successful candidate for this position will be required to complete a criminal background, education and DMV check satisfactory to Brown University prior to commencing employment.

Ability to maintain compliance with all University and NCAA/Ivy League policies.

All division employees are required to demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations; the duties of the position are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA, Ivy League rules and regulations; and any rules violations on behalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within the division are to be reported to the compliance office and appropriate parties.

Employees in coaching positions must receive annual rules education on NCAA legislation related to recruiting by the compliance office and maintain current AED/CPR and First Aid certification (certification is available at no cost through the Division).
