Job Title: Dental Practice Manager
Department/Location: Operations
Reports to: Regional Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary

The Dental Practice Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the dental practice. Responsible for overseeing administrative tasks, financial management, and staff coordination, the Dental Practice Manager serves as a central point of contact for both internal team members and external stakeholders. This role involves managing schedules, handling patient inquiries, maintaining records, and implementing office policies and procedures. The Dental Practice Manager also collaborates with dentists and other staff to optimize patient care delivery and enhance the overall patient experience. Exceptional organizational, communication, and strong leadership skills are essential for success in this role.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Serves as an office facilitator for all personnel by acting as liaison between office and Corporate and provides positive leadership.
  2. Supervises all treatment support systems and patient flow sequencing.
  3. Maintains collection controls and systems.
  4. Monitors overall expenses in the office.
  5. Oversees daily closeout functions as well as daily deposit with the corporate office.
  6. Evaluates work performance of subordinates and mentors, counsels, and provides discipline when necessary.
  7. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The following qualifications are required:

  1. 5+ years’ work experience in a dental or medical office with at least 1+ years as supervisor or management level with direct reports required.
  2. Strong customer service orientation towards patients and staff.
  3. Easily able to learn new technologies and systems required.
  4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Requires some flexibility in scheduling, such as the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  6. Experience using Outlook, Word, Excel required.
  7. High School diploma or GED required.

Knowledge and Skills/Expected Competencies

  1. Strong customer service orientation towards patients and staff.
  2. Easily able to learn new technologies and systems as required.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Ability to review critical issues, effectively solve problems and create action plans.
  5. Ability to develop and implement new approaches to improve processes, procedures and the general work environment.
  6. Excellent organization, prioritization, follow up, analytical and time management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  7. Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
