Job summary

NDX D.H. Baker Dental Laboratory in Traverse City, MI, is seeking a Dental Lab Technician Trainee. This full-time role offers paid training, a team-oriented environment, and advancement opportunities. No dental experience? We'll train the right person!

Regular hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, with benefits including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, paid holidays, vacation and sick time, 401K with company contributions, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• No prior experience required; paid training provided.
• Must be able to read prescriptions and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Read dentist prescriptions and specifications.
• Pour models from impressions in the proper material.
• Number models and impressions with case numbers.
• Pindex models and place pins in dies.
• Saw out dies using proper technique to make dies removable.
• Place models on articulators with correct technique.
• Articulate models using bites and correct bite relationships.
• Check case for doctor information, finish date, product, metal type and fabrication questions for the next day.
• Clean work area daily.
• All other duties as assigned.

We are seeking to fill a number of key positions within our organization including this Dental Lab Technician Trainee opportunity at NDX D.H. Baker Dental Laboratory in Traverse City, MI.

The regular hours for this position are from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, and subject to change from time to time.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions of the Position:

• Read prescriptions and specifications received from dentist
• Pour models from impressions received from doctors in the proper material
• Number all models and impressions with case number
• Pindex models and place pins in dies
• Saw out dies using proper technique to make dies removable for fabrication
• Place models on appropriate type of articulator using correct technique
• Articulate models by using bites sent by doctor or hand articulating to correct bite relationship
• Check case for correct doctor information, finish date, product, metal type and fabrication questions that need to be called on the next day
• Clean work area daily
• All other duties as assigned

• Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours)

• Read and interpret prescriptions and other required documentation
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information
• Vision capabilities: depth perception, attention to detail, and/or color
