Job summary

NDX Davis Dental Laboratory in Wyoming, MI is seeking a Dental Lab CAD CAM Technician Trainee. This entry-level role offers hands-on training in digital design and manufacturing for dental restorations, with mentors guiding you through scanning, design, and milling steps.

Regular hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The position provides benefits and tuition reimbursement, supporting your growth in a technology-driven dental lab.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • On-the-job training provided; prior dental experience is a plus.
  • Read and follow English instructions accurately.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and detail orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Read prescriptions and specifications from dentist.
  • Operate CAD/CAM steps for design, scanning, loading and file creation.
  • Use nesting software for milling/printing workflows.
  • Load patient and case information into systems.
  • Ensure quality standards in final output.
  • Order implant parts and manage inventory.
  • Plan implants with doctors and team.
  • Serve as primary contact for technical questions on surgical guides.
  • Support production by resolving follow-up items with customers.
  • Design CAD/CAM abutments and perform impression QC.
  • Maintain clean work area and comply with safety procedures.

Join National Dentex - a leading healthcare organization specializing in the dental industry! We offer a full spectrum of specialized products, services, and technologies to address any dental restoration need. Currently, we have 50 labs throughout the country. We are seeking to fill a number of key positions within our organization including this Dental Lab CAD CAM Technician Trainee opportunity at NDX Davis Dental Laboratory in Wyoming, MI.

The regular hours for this position are from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and subject to change from time to time.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Read prescriptions and specifications received from dentist
  • Knowledge and comfortability with computers
  • Operate the computer-aided design & computer-aided manufacturing steps for the designing process, including scanning, loading and creating files
  • Operate software for nesting designs to be processed throughout the milling / printing process
  • Load information into the computer, such as patient name, pan number, shade, etc.
  • Follow all required steps, to insure consistent, accurate results
  • Review final work to confirm that quality standards have been met
  • Order Implant parts for cases; maintain inventory
  • Case planning for implant cases with doctors and internal team members
  • Serve as primary point of contact for incoming technical questions, requests, and case consultation needs on surgical guides
  • Support production efficiency by taking ownership of technical Implant follow-up items with customers
  • Design CAD/CAM abutments
  • Impression QC
  • Clean work area daily
  • All other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Strong ability to read, listen, comprehend, retain, and execute on written and verbal instructions
  • High level of organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Previous Dental Experience is a plus but not required; we offer paid / on the job training
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Computer and scanning equipment

  • Additional related materials or equipment, as required
  • Personal protective equipment, as required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel and/or reach
