Job summary

NDX D.H. Baker Dental Laboratory in Traverse City, MI is seeking motivated individuals for a Dental Lab Technician Trainee role. No dental experience required; paid training will be provided.

Regular hours 8:00am–4:30pm Mon–Fri. You will read prescriptions, pour models, index, and assemble dies, work with articulators, and ensure accurate lab work. • No experience required; paid training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Read prescriptions and specifications from dentist.
• Pour models from impressions received from doctors in the proper material.
• Number all models and impressions with case number.
• Index models and place pins in dies.
• Saw out dies using proper technique to make dies removable for fabrication.
• Place models on appropriate type of articulator using correct technique.
• Articulate models using bites sent by doctor or hand articulating to correct bite relationship.
• Check case for correct doctor information, finish date, product, metal type and fabrication questions.
• Clean work area daily.
• All other duties as assigned.

We are seeking to fill a number of key positions within our organization including this Dental Lab Technician Trainee opportunity at NDX D.H. Baker Dental Laboratory in Traverse City, MI.

The regular hours for this position are from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, and subject to change from time to time.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions of the Position:

• Read prescriptions and specifications received from dentist
• Pour models from impressions received from doctors in the proper material
• Number all models and impressions with case number
• Pindex models and place pins in dies
• Saw out dies using proper technique to make dies removable for fabrication
• Place models on appropriate type of articulator using correct technique
• Articulate models by using bites sent by doctor or hand articulating to correct bite relationship
• Check case for correct doctor information, finish date, product, metal type and fabrication questions that need to be called on the next day
• Clean work area daily
• All other duties as assigned

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

• Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent
• No experience required; paid training will be provided

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Exhibit fine motor skills and/or perform repetitive motions
• Read and interpret prescriptions and other required documentation
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information
• Vision capabilities: depth perception, attention to detail, and/or color
