Job summary

West Virginia University is seeking an Information Technology Support Specialist to deliver advanced IT support for the WVU School of Dentistry, focusing on Axium and clinical information systems. You will oversee dental clinic networking, ensure secure data handling, and collaborate with ITS teams to deploy and maintain systems.

The role requires deploying OS images, supporting Windows and Mac devices, and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in engineering or computer science related degree or equivalent experience in an IT support related field.
4+ years in technical IT support, equipment management, OS deployment, customer support, and enterprise IT environments.
Equivalent education/experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

Participate in implementing and operating the WVU School of Dentistry Digital Dentistry Program, liaising with vendors and WVU ITS.
Manage networking equipment in dental clinics, ensure HIPAA/FERPA compliance and secure data connections.
Deploy and maintain system infrastructure, including clinical equipment and software updates.
Manage and update the Axium software application with vendors and internal teams.
Provide Tier 1 and 2 support for Windows, Office, network access, email, printers, and copiers.
Maintain and update School of Dentistry web content using the university CMS.
