Smile Kings Dental & Orthodontics (Zarzamora) is seeking an Insurance Coordinator to verify insurance benefits and support patient services across a busy practice. The role emphasizes accurate benefit checks and clear communication with patients and carriers.

You will work with front-office teams to ensure correct benefit information, maintain HIPAA-compliant records, and help patients understand their financial responsibility. A strong attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of insurance verification experience.
• Experience verifying dental insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
• Type at least 45 words per minute.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsabilités

• Reviewing daily schedules and verifying insurance for scheduled and add-on appointments.
• Verifying patient eligibility, benefits, and coverage through portals and by contacting insurance carriers.
• Entering and updating insurance information in Open Dental software.
• Creating and updating insurance plans within Open Dental.
• Phasing treatment plans to align with covered services and insurance benefits.
• Explaining insurance benefits, coverage, and patient financial responsibility to patients and office staff.
• Collaborating closely with front office teams to ensure accurate benefit information.
• Maintaining communication with offices and Patient Services departments via phone, email, and chat.
• Maintaining accurate documentation and patient records.
• Staying current on Medicaid guidelines, limitations, and covered benefits.
• Representing the practice professionally while providing exceptional customer service.
• Performing other duties as assigned
