Job summary

A.T. Still University Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health on the St. Louis campus seeks a full-time, exempt Instructor Dental Hygienist to supervise dental students performing non-surgical periodontal procedures and provide clinical hygiene services.

The instructor will lead in clinical instruction, participate in quality assurance, grading, and faculty development, reporting to the Assistant Dean, Clinical Affairs and SCU Director.

Qualifications

• Dental hygiene degree or associate degree in dental hygiene with Bachelor degree in a related field required.
• Knowledge of periodontal anatomy and physiology; know when to refer for periodontal surgery.
• Experience in NSPT Program design and implementation.
• Missouri Dental Hygiene licensure and Local Anesthesia/Nitrous Certification.
• Ability to obtain Missouri Dental Hygiene license and certification.
• Current AHA CPR BLS or MO Dental Board-approved training.

Responsibilities

• Participate in instruction and grading of non-surgical periodontal procedures.
• Participate in instruction and grading of clinical experiences for dental hygiene.
• Participate in faculty calibration meetings and professional development activities.
• Contribute to the clinical program as directed by the Assistant Dean, Clinical Affairs.
• Other duties as assigned.
