Eisner Health is seeking a Dental Front Office Coordinator for 100% onsite work in Sherman Oaks, CA. You will greet patients, manage scheduling, registrations, and insurance questions to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Responsibilities include coordinating appointments, assisting with referrals, and supporting the dental team with accurate record-keeping and patient communication. Fluent English/Spanish is required; CPR certification may be obtained after hire.

Our services include primary care, women's health, pediatrics, behavioral health, dental, optometry, dermatology, pharmacy, laboratory services, and care coordination.

As a Dental Front Office Coordinator , you’ll be an important part of that mission. You’ll be one of the first people our dental patients interact with—helping them schedule appointments, navigate insurance and referrals, understand next steps, and feel welcomed and supported throughout their experience.

Position Summary & Responsibilities

The Dental Front Office Coordinator performs all job activities in both patient appointment scheduling, telephone operation, accurate and timely registration of patients for the various dental and specialty departments. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Eisner Health.

  • Create a welcoming, respectful experience for every patient, both in person and over the phone.
  • Greet patients and provide clear directions and information when they arrive at the health center.
  • Answer incoming calls and connect patients with the appropriate department or resource.
  • Help patients understand their appointments, next steps, and available services.
  • Schedule and coordinate dental appointments accurately and efficiently.
  • Register new and returning patients and maintain accurate demographic information in the electronic health record.
  • Process and follow up on internal and external dental referrals.
  • Help keep patient information and charts current and accurate.

Support Insurance & Financial Processes

  • Assist with dental insurance verification and processing.
  • Conduct financial triage and help patients understand applicable requirements and processes.
  • Apply knowledge of dental insurance requirements to support accurate registration and scheduling.

Be a Trusted Member of the Dental Team

  • Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality and respecting patient rights.
  • Collaborate with the dental team and other departments to help patients receive timely, coordinated care.
  • Adapt to changing workflows and support the needs of different Eisner Health locations.
  • Contribute to Eisner Health’s quality improvement initiatives, strategic goals, and commitment to excellent patient care.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least 6 months–1 year dental front office/clerical experience, including knowledge of dental insurance processes.
  • Dental Knowledge: Basic dental terminology and office workflow familiarity.
  • Bilingual: Fluent in English and Spanish; able to communicate clearly and compassionately in person and by phone.
  • Customer Service: Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to a positive patient experience.
  • Communication: Excellent phone skills; able to listen, explain information clearly, and respond professionally.
  • Technology: Comfortable with computers, multi-line phones, and office equipment; able to learn EHR and phone systems within 1 month.
  • Microsoft Office: Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Organization: Strong time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • CPR: Current certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.

  • Experience working in a community health center, FQHC, or other patient-centered healthcare environment.
  • Enjoys helping people and takes pride in making patients feel welcome and respected.
  • Can stay organized and calm while managing competing priorities.
  • Communicates clearly and works well with patients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Is comfortable learning new technology, workflows, and processes.
  • Enjoys being part of a collaborative dental team.
  • Understands that excellent front office service is an important part of delivering excellent patient care.
