Job summary

Specialized Dental Partners is seeking a Dental Billing Coordinator for Mesa, AZ. The role focuses on verifying insurance coverage, submitting claims and pre-authorizations, and guiding patients through their benefits to ensure smooth financial interactions.

In addition to billing, the position supports the front desk—answering calls, scheduling patients, and helping foster a welcoming experience for patients and team members. Schedule is full-time, Monday-Thursday at our Mesa location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience working with dental insurance.
• Familiarity with insurance terminology, claims processes, and EOBs.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in dental practice management software.
• Comfortable with multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of dental codes and common insurance plans.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments.
• Submit insurance claims and pre-authorizations in a timely and accurate manner.
• Follow up on outstanding claims and resolve denials or discrepancies.
• Educate patients on their insurance coverage, co-pays, deductibles, and financial responsibilities.
• Coordinate with the billing team to ensure proper coding and documentation.
• Maintain accurate patient insurance records within the practice management system.
• Respond to patient and insurance inquiries regarding claims and coverage.
• Collaborate with front office and clinical teams to ensure a smooth patient experience.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines.
• Assist with billing-related tasks and support front desk duties as needed.
