Job summary

Park West Health System,Inc. seeks a Dental Assistant to support a busy dental practice. You will prepare patients for procedures, assist dentists and hygienists, sterilize instruments, manage x-ray exposure/processing, and maintain accurate patient records.

Education includes a high school diploma or GED and graduation from an accredited dental assisting program. Dental x-ray certification is required; RDA or QDA is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program.
• CPR-BLS certification required (AHA).
• Prior experience as a dental assistant is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for dental examinations and procedures.
• Assist dentists during treatments and respond to emergencies when necessary.
• Assist dental hygienists with procedures as needed.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up trays, ensure operatory readiness.
• Expose and process dental x-rays and maintain x-ray equipment.
• Record treatment information and update patient histories.
• Provide postoperative care instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene.
