Job summary

Great Expressions is seeking a dedicated Dental Hygiene Assistant to support the hygienist in delivering high-quality patient care. You will prepare treatment rooms, assist with cleanings, and help maintain a smooth hygiene workflow.

You will also take X-rays, ensure sterilization protocols, educate patients on oral hygiene, and manage records and scheduling. High school diploma and state-specific CPR/X-ray certifications are required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of proven experience as a Dental Hygiene Assistant or Dental Assistant.
• X-ray and CPR certifications required based on state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification as a Dental Assistant is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
• Assist the dental hygienist during exams and teeth cleanings.
• Take and develop dental X-rays as directed by the dental hygienist or dentist.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain treatment areas.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Maintain patient records and update dental charts.
• Schedule appointments and manage front desk tasks.
