Job summary

Heartland Dental is seeking a Temporary Dental Assistant for Kissimmee, FL. The role supports patient care with chairside assistance, x-ray processing, and comprehensive patient education. You’ll use Dentrix for scheduling and maintain safety protocols across procedures.

The position is Monday–Thursday with rotating Fridays, 11/23/26–12/7/26, and prior dental assistant experience is strongly preferred. Training and a supportive team environment are highlighted in this temporary opportunity.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• If required under state practice act, dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and PHI protection responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, and support patient comfort and education.
• Review patient health history to ensure quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostics (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance to dentists during procedures (four-handed dentistry).
• Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment rooms with safety protocols per OSHA & CDC guidance.
• Manage supply and inventory, and place/expedite orders as needed.
• Collaborate with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize workflow.
