Job summary

Indiana University School of Dentistry is seeking a chair-side dental assistant to support the Prosthodontics department in Indianapolis, IN. The role involves passing instruments, suctioning, and preparing patients during specialty dental procedures, including root canal work.

You will assist with preoperative care, vital signs, and post-operative instructions. Experience in dental assisting and a High school diploma are required; Indiana X-Ray license and optional Dental Assistant

Qualifications

• Proficient communication skills required.
• Assist in administration of local anesthetic.
• Able to take blood pressure and monitor vitals.

Responsibilities

• Provide chair-side assistance to dentists, passing instruments and handling suction.
• Prepare patients for procedures, position them, and apply topical anesthetics.
• Sterilize and organize instruments, ensure equipment is clean and ready.
• Support front office with scheduling follow-ups.
