Job summary

The Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis seeks a dental assistant to support orthodontics and oral facial procedures. You will pass instruments, assist with anesthesia, take vitals, and help prepare patients for surgery, while also facilitating radiography training for students.

Qualifications

• Required high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of assisting in applicable specialty dental assisting.
• Indiana X-Ray License upon date of hire.
• Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure.
• Possesses strong technical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentist chair side by passing instruments and handling suction during procedures.
• Assist in administration of local anesthetic and take patients' vital signs.
• Sterilize instruments and ensure equipment is clean and ready for use.
• Instruct graduate students and pre-doctoral dental students on taking digital radiographs and cone beam scans.
• Assist front office with scheduling follow-up visits.
