Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM) is seeking a Dental Assistant (Per Diem) for Rutgers Health University Dental Associates. The Dental Assistant performs chairside four‑handed dentistry and sterilization duties for Rutgers Health University Dental Associates. The position assists providers during the examination and treatment of patients, dispenses dental materials and instruments, and performs clerical, sterilizing and miscellaneous tasks for the Rutgers Faculty Practice. Key responsibilities include:

• Prepares room for each patient, which includes setting up instruments and supplies.
• Greets patients and brings them to treatment room.
• Seats patients, adjusts chairs and light, and drapes patients with protective covers.
• Runs H2O through lines and handpieces after every patient, as per ADA recommendations.
• Passes instruments to doctor, using four‑handed dentistry according to CDA certification, during examination period and treatment of patients.
• Charts results of doctor’s examination.
• Prepares dental materials for dentists use.
• Pours models, trims and evaluates the quality of diagnostic casts.
• Maintains patient’s records in accordance with Quality Assurance Guidelines.
