Job summary

First Flight Health Centers in Dayton, OH, is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the dentist and hygienist, prepare patients, and manage radiographs. Duties include instrument sterilization, charting, and patient education.

The role requires a completed dental assistant program, a state radiography permit or eligibility, and at least three years of experience. This is a full-time, on-site position with benefits after 1 year.

Qualifications

• Graduate from high school or equivalent, completion of dental assistant program, Ohio State Dental Radiograph permit or eligibility for permit with minimum of three years experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist and dental hygienist to provide optimal care for patients.
• Seat, drape and prepare patients for treatment.
• Take radiographs and maintain current State Board Radiation Permit.
• Ensure instruments are available for each procedure and that operatories are stocked.
• Sterilize instruments and monitor sterilization processes.
• Chart dental conditions and changes in patient history on the clinic chart.
• Record vital signs on initial visits and as requested by the dentist.
• Explain proposed treatments and answer patient questions.
• Encourage follow-up visits and liaise with patients throughout visits.
