Job summary

Equitas Health in Dayton, OH is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the dentist in delivering primary dental care. The role involves preparing the treatment room, assisting with four-handed dentistry, and maintaining patient records and radiographs.

The position requires graduation from an accredited dental assisting program (or two years of general dentistry experience) and Ohio Radiology certification. Flexible hours may apply, with benefits including PTO and health coverage.

Qualifications

• CPR certification; training provided upon hire
• Commitment to preventive dental care
• Ability to care for diverse patient populations; bilingual preferred
• Fluency in written and spoken English (or as applicable)
• Knowledge of Dentrix software
• Knowledge of Epic is a plus

Responsibilities

• Prepare the office and treatment areas daily.
• Prescreen patient needs and educate on oral healthcare.
• Chart and document dental care services and medical histories.
• Explain treatment plans and promote best strategies.
• Review postoperative instructions and answer routine questions.
• Set up/clean-up for each patient; assist with procedures.
• Assist dentist at chairside using four-handed techniques.
• Demonstrate knowledge of instruments and techniques used.
• Provide independent patient services including radiographs and minor procedures.
• Maintain facility, equipment, and inventories; ensure cleanliness and sterilization.
