Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Dental Assisting Program.
• Certification as a Dental Assistant (CDA) in New Jersey.
• Valid Dental Radiologic Technology license issued by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
• CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepares room for each patient with instruments and supplies.
• Seats patients, adjusts chairs, and drapes patients.
• Takes and records vital signs and updates medical history; obtains doctor signatures.
• Passes instruments to the dentist during examinations and treatments.
• Charts results of examinations and prepares dental materials.
• Maintains patient records according to QA guidelines.
• Prepares models, trims, and evaluates diagnostic casts.
• Gives post-operative instructions and dismisses patients.
