Rutgers University’s RBHS in Newark seeks a Dental Assistant for the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery-Pre-doctoral Program at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. The role assists dentists, residents, and student dentists, supports implant procedures, dispenses equipment, inventories supplies, and handles front desk duties.

The position requires graduation from an accredited Dental Assisting program, CDA certification, NJ radiographic license, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Dental Assisting program.
• CDA certification through the DANB.
• NJ Dental Radiographic Technology License.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pull equipment, instruments and supplies for procedures and set up operatory.
• Escort patients to operatory, prepare for procedures and organize instrumentation.
• Check and record vital signs prior to procedures.
• Assist with implant and dental procedures and with residents and students.
• Take X-Rays (PAN) as requested by attending residents.
