Pelican Park Dental Care in Mandeville is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team. The role involves greeting patients, reviewing health history, taking X-rays, and providing chairside assistance with a focus on patient comfort and safety.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of chairside dental assisting in a general dentistry setting.
• Dentrix or other dental software experience.
• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification if required by state law.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and PHI protection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey and educate them throughout treatment.
• Review patient health history to ensure quality care.
• Take and process X-rays and diagnostics (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide four-handed chairside assistance to dentists.
• Use Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment rooms following OSHA & CDC recommendations.
• Manage supply and inventory; place and expedite orders as needed.
• Collaborate with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems.
