Job summary

Dental One Associates in Columbia, MD, is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the clinical team and deliver high-quality patient care in a team-oriented practice. The role requires prior dental assisting experience and includes responsibilities from room setup to charting and patient education.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
• Minimum 2 years of on-the-job experience.
• X-Ray certification preferred.
• Nitrous oxide certification recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Help dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
