Job summary

Heartland Dental supports Hero Way Dental Care in Leander, TX, seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate is proficient with Dentrix, familiar with implants, able to prepare temporary crowns, and a positive asset to the team.

You will greet patients, review health histories, take x-rays, and provide four-handed chairside assistance while maintaining safety and HIPAA standards. Training and benefits are offered to foster growth.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• If required by state dental practice act, dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training is required; protect PHI and maintain data safeguards.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey and educate throughout treatment.
• Review patient health history to provide quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostics (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to dentists during procedures.
• Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment room following safety protocols (OSHA & CDC).
• Manage supply and inventory levels and place/expedite orders as needed.
• Partner with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize workflow.
