Job summary

Centurion Health is hiring a Dental Assistant for the Metro Re-entry Facility in Atlanta, GA. You will work under direct supervision, assisting the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry within a correctional environment.

The role includes instrument preparation/sterilization, operatory maintenance, radiographic imaging, and related administrative duties. Day shift; full-time, 32 hours per week, with benefits and opportunities for credentialing advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Technical school in dental assisting or 6 months dental assistant experience required
• Georgia DA license or ability to obtain license
• Expanded duty dental assistant certification preferred; if not held, must obtain within first year
• X-ray certification/experience preferred
• Maintain TB screening and CPR certification
• Ability to obtain security clearance including drug screen and background check

Responsibilities

• Assist Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting.
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and maintain the dental operatory.
• Operate radiographic equipment and perform additional administrative tasks as needed

Education

High school diploma or its recognized equivalent

Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six months of experience as a dental assistant

Georgia DA license or ability to obtain license

Expanded duty dental assistant certification preferred; if not present, must be obtained in first year

Certification/experience performing dental x-rays preferred

Current tuberculosis screening documentation and CPR certification

Ability to obtain security clearance (drug screen and background check)

We are currently seeking a full time Dental Assistant to join our team at the Metro Re-entry Facility located in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision, assisting the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting. Additional responsibilities include preparing and sterilizing dental instruments, preparing and maintaining the dental operatory, operating radiographic equipment, and additional administrative tasks as needed.

Schedule - Day Shift 32 hours/wk

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its recognized equivalent
• Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six months of experience as a dental assistant required
• Georgia DA license or ability to obtain license
• Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred; if the candidate does not possess a current certificate, one must be obtained in the first year of employment
• Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferred
• Must maintain current tuberculosis screening documentation and active CPR certification
• Ability to obtain security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
