Job summary

Centurion Health is hiring a full-time Dental Assistant at Walton Correctional Institution in De Funiak Springs, FL. You will work under the Dentist or Dental Hygienist in a correctional setting and support chairside procedures.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, a dental assisting program or 6 months of experience, a valid DA license or ability to obtain one, and CPR/PPD compliance. Training for X-ray certification is preferred. Shift: 6AM-4:30PM.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical school program in dental assisting or 6 months experience required.
• Dental Assistant license or ability to obtain one required.
• Expanded duty dental assistant certification preferred; if not, obtain in first year.

We are currently seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to join our team at Walton Correctional Institution located in De Funiak Springs, Florida.

The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting.

Essential Duties

• Preparing and sterilizing dental instruments
• Preparing and maintaining the dental operatory
• Operating radiographic equipment
• Administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six (6) months of experience as a Dental Assistant required
• Dental Assistant license or ability to obtain one required
• Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred; if the candidate does not possess a current certificate, one must be obtained in the first year of employment
• Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferred
• Must show/obtain current Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation for tuberculosis screening
• Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check

Available Shift: 6AM-4:30PM; Monday-Thursday schedule
