Job summary

The College of Health Care Professions is seeking a part-time, hybrid Dental Assistant Laboratory Skills Instructor. This role reports to the Program Director and contributes to the academic and professional development of Dental Assistant students through classroom teaching, clinical practicums, simulations, and skills labs.

The instructor delivers structured instruction aligned with course materials, mentors students, and ensures compliance with accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• Degree or post-secondary education that meets state (TWC) and ABHES accreditation requirements.
• Minimum of 5 years practical experience in the field; teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver assigned classes using prescribed courses of study, texts, and materials.
• Maintain classroom and lab environments in optimal condition.
• Supervise students in lab and clinical settings, ensuring safety and educational standards.
• Review and manage procurement of medical supplies for laboratory experiences.
• Provide hands-on instruction through demonstrations and practical exercises.
• Evaluate student learning by assessing competencies via return demonstrations.
• Sign and date student skill checklists to document progress.
