Job summary

CHCP is seeking a Part-Time Laboratory Skills Instructor for the Dental Assistant program, based in Texas with hybrid work options. The role focuses on delivering both theoretical knowledge and practical applications through classrooms, clinical practicums, simulations, and skills labs, guiding students toward competency.

The ideal candidate has a degree in dental assisting and at least five years of practical experience, with teaching experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires degree or post-secondary education meeting state (TWC) and ABHES accreditation requirements.
• Minimum 5 years of practical experience in the field; teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver assigned classes using prescribed courses of study, texts, and instructional materials.
• Maintain the classroom and laboratory environments in optimal condition.
• Supervise students in lab and clinical settings, ensuring safety and educational standards.
• Review and manage procurement of medical supplies for laboratory experiences.
• Provide hands-on instruction through demonstrations and practical exercises.
• Evaluate student learning by assessing competencies through return demonstrations.
• Sign and date student skill checklists to document progress and competency.
• Manage simulation scenarios and assess student responses for effectiveness and accuracy.
