Job summary

CHCP (The College of Health Care Professions) is seeking a Part Time Hybrid Dental Assistant Laboratory Skills Instructor to work under the Program Director. The role combines classroom teaching, clinical practicums, simulation exercises, and skills lab tracking to help students gain hands-on experience and meet program objectives.

Applicants should have degree or post-secondary education and 5 years of practical experience, with teaching experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to deliver structured instruction aligned with course objectives.
• Ability to mentor students and support their academic and professional growth.
• Knowledge of safety, accreditation, and educational standards in a clinical lab.
• Experience supervising dental assistant labs and clinical practice sessions.
• Strong collaboration with faculty to maintain high educational standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver assigned classes using prescribed courses of study and instructional materials.
• Maintain the classroom and laboratory environments in optimal physical condition.
• Supervise students in laboratory and clinical settings, ensuring safety and educational standards.
• Review and manage the procurement of medical supplies for laboratory experiences.
• Provide hands-on instruction through demonstrations and practical exercises.
• Evaluate student learning through competency-based assessments and return demonstrations.
• Sign and date student skill checklists to document progress and competency.
• Manage simulation scenarios and assess student responses for effectiveness and accuracy.
• Communicate knowledge effectively to inspire student engagement.
• Stay current with healthcare practices relevant to the courses.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Program Director.
