Job summary

Pima Medical Institute is seeking a Dental Assistant Instructor to support our dental program on a part-time/PRN basis at the East Valley campus in Mesa, AZ. This role offers a flexible morning schedule to transition chairside knowledge into classroom leadership.

Ideal candidates have a valid Dental Assistant credential or 3+ years of dental experience, with 2+ years in clinical settings and proficiency in four-/six-handed dentistry. On-site teaching with supportive administration.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Dental Assistant program or 3+ years dental experience.
• Minimum 2 years practical experience in Dental Assisting.
• Proficiency in four-handed and/or six-handed dentistry.
• Familiarity with state requirements for dental education programs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Deliver interactive lessons in lab and classroom settings.
• Evaluate and grade assignments, labs, and exams with 72-hour feedback.
• Maintain face-to-face office hours for student guidance.
• Supervise externships and monitor clinical readiness.
• Complete attendance, incident reports, alerts, and files.
• Coordinate with faculty leadership as needed.
• Arrange guest speakers and community visits.
• Ensure safety and upkeep of lab facilities and equipment.
