Job summary

A dental care provider in Old Saybrook, Connecticut is seeking a Dental Assistant to enhance patient care. You will assist the dentist, prepare patients, and provide clinical support ensuring high-quality dental experiences. Ideal candidates have a certification in dental assisting, relevant experience, and a commitment to exceptional patient service.

Qualifications

  • Dental Assisting Certification or prior on the job training.
  • 1-5 years of experience preferred; will consider new graduates.
  • Radiography/ X-RAY certification for respective state.
  • Infection Control Certification.
  • CPR Certification required.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional service, support, and education to patient.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent clinical support to help patients get the care they need.
  • Prepare the patient for treatment and assist the dentist.
  • Provide chair-side clinical support including charting and patient education.
  • Record and review patient health history under the doctor's direction.
  • Set up appropriate trays and instruments.
  • Prepare patients and maintain chain of asepsis.
  • Expose and develop dental diagnostic radiographs.
  • Follow OSHA regulations and safety requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Dental Assistant partners with the practice team to provide excellent clinical support to help patients get the care they need.
  • Dental Assistant will help prepare the patient for treatment and assist the dentist in restorative dentistry.
  • Provides excellent chair-side clinical support and assistance to Doctors and Hygienists which includes but is not limited to: charting, operatory set/clean up, and patient education.
  • Records and reviews patient health history, makes chart entries under the doctor's direction and assures completion of forms and signatures in dental software.
  • Reviews the daily schedule to set up appropriate trays and instruments.
  • Prepares patients, sterilizes and disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays, maintains chain of asepsis, prepares materials, and assists dentists during dental procedures following OSHA guidelines.
  • Exposes and develops dental diagnostic radiographs.
  • Follows OSHA regulations and safety requirements to include compliance with HIPAA guidelines, CPR, X-rays, and other required certifications and registrations.
