Job summary

North American Dental Group in Newark, OH is seeking a Dental Assistant to support clinicians and ensure exceptional patient care. You’ll prep patients, assist dentists during restorative procedures, manage charting, sterilization, and radiographs, all while maintaining OSHA/HIPAA compliance in a fast-paced team setting.

Qualifications

  • Dental Assistant certification or equivalent training.
  • Radiography/X-ray certification for the state you practice in.

Responsibilities

  • Provide chair-side clinical support to doctors and hygienists.
  • Prepare patients for treatment and assist during procedures.
  • Record patient health history and chart entries in dental software.
  • Set up trays, sterilize instruments, and maintain asepsis.
  • Expose and develop dental radiographs per OSHA guidelines.
  • Adhere to HIPAA, CPR, X-ray, and required certifications.

Monday through Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm

One Friday per month 8am-1pm

Responsibilities

Dental Assistant partners with the practice team to provide excellent clinical support to help patients get the care they need. Dental Assistant will help prepare the patient for treatment and assist the dentist in restorative dentistry.

  • Provides excellent chair-side clinical support and assistance to Doctors and Hygienists which includes but is not limited to: charting, operatory set/clean up, and patient education.
  • Records and reviews patient health history, makes chart entries under the doctor's direction and assures completion of forms and signatures in dental software.
  • Reviews the daily schedule to set up appropriate trays and instruments.
  • Prepares patients, sterilizes and disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays, maintains chain of asepsis, prepares materials, and assists dentists during dental procedures following OSHA guidelines.
  • Exposes and develops dental diagnostic radiographs.
  • Follows OSHA regulations and safety requirements to include compliance with HIPAA guidelines, CPR, X-rays, and other required certifications and registrations.
Qualifications
  • Dental Assisting Certification or prior on the job training
  • 1-5 years of experience preferred; will consider new graduates
  • Radiography/ X-RAY certification for respective state
  • CPR Certification required
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Commitment to providing exceptional service, support, and education to patient.
