Job summary

Heartland Dental, Hernando Smiles in Hernando, MS, is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team full time. You’ll support clinicians with four-handed dentistry, manage patient flow, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in fast-paced, customer-centric environments.
• Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification per state act (if required).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Access to PHI with HIPAA training and data safeguards.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and educate them throughout treatment.
• Review health history for quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry.
• Use Dentrix for scheduling and records.
• Prepare treatment rooms following safety protocols (OSHA & CDC).
• Manage supplies and place orders; support office workflow.
• Collaborate with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems.
