Job summary

Summerlin Dental Care in Fort Myers is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our team. Our doctors provide general dentistry and more complex procedures in a compassionate environment.

The role requires 2-3 years of dental assisting, x-ray certification when required, and proficiency with Dentrix and iTero. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm, with a focus on patient education and safe, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years dental assisting experience.
• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification as required by state law.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and educate patients from the start of their dental journey, ensuring comfort.
• Review health history to support quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and diagnostics (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) during procedures.
• Use Dentrix for scheduling and records, maintain safety protocols and PHI safeguards.
• Manage supplies and inventory and expedite orders as needed.
• Collaborate with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems and improve workflow.
