Job summary

Heartland Dental is seeking a Dental Assistant to join My Charleston Dentist and support clinicians with four-handed dentistry. You will greet patients, review health histories, take X-rays, and help prepare treatment rooms per safety guidelines.

Utilize Dentrix for scheduling/records, manage supplies, and collaborate with a team to improve workflow and patient experiences. Training and growth are emphasized in this role.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• HIPAA training and PHI safeguarding responsibilities.
• Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification may be required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey and educate them throughout treatment.
• Review patient health history to ensure quality care.
• Take and process X-rays and diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to supported dentists.
• Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment rooms following safety protocols (OSHA & CDC).
• Manage supplies and inventory, place and expedite orders as needed.
• Collaborate with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems and improve office workflow.
