Job summary

Penn State Health - Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA is hiring a Dental Assistant who provides chairside, four-handed support to the Dentist, handles instrument prep, takes x-rays, documents patient records, and ensures proper sterilization and supply stocking. Work type is full-time, day shift from 7:00am to 5:30pm Monday through Thursday.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, completion of a dental assistant training program, and at least one year of dental office

  • Successful completion of a dental assistant training program is required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a dental practice is required.
  • EFDA license and radiation license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide chairside, four-handed dental assistance to Dentist.
  • Assist in hands-on patient care, instrument preparation, and sterilization.
  • Take X-rays and chart/document patient information.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Provides chairside, four-handed dental assistance to Dentist in all aspects of dental care, including hands-on patient care, instrument preparation, ordering and stocking supplies, taking x-rays, charting and documentation, and cleaning and sterilization of dental equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of a dental assistant training program required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience working at a dental practice required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
  • EFDA (Expanded Functional Dental Assistant) license, including radiation license preferred.
  • Current CPR certification preferred.
