Cherry Health in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a dental assistant (DA/RDA) to support clinical and operational teams, provide chairside care, sterilization, patient education, and front desk support as needed.

Expanded functions may be performed by licensed RDA under Michigan law; responsibilities include radiographs, impressions, restorations, coronal polishing, sealants, and anesthesia monitoring under supervision.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent experience.
• Current CPR/BLS certification as required by license.
• Radiography certification required by Michigan law.
• RDA license from the Michigan Board of Dentistry for expanded functions.
• Completion of expanded functions training per state requirements.
• Pass the Michigan RDA exam and jurisprudence exam.

Responsabilités

• Prepare operatory rooms and instruments for dental procedures.
• Assist the dentist during exams, fillings, extractions, crowns, and other procedures.
• Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays).
• Ensure sterilization and infection control guidelines are followed.
• Comfort and educate patients before, during, and after treatment.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Provide oral hygiene and post-op instructions to patients.
• Support front desk operations as needed (scheduling/appointments).
• Take and record patient vital signs as needed.
