Job summary

Cherry Health is seeking a dental assistant to support clinical and operational teams at Cherry Street Health Center in Grand Rapids. The role involves in-chair four-handed dentistry, sterilization, patient care, and expanding functions per Michigan Board of Dentistry for RDA’s.

Responsibilities include preparing operatory rooms, assisting dentists, taking radiographs, maintaining records, and supporting front desk tasks.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent experience.
• Current CPR/BLS certification and radiography certification as required by Michigan law.
• Current Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license from the Michigan Board of Dentistry.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operatory rooms and instruments for dental procedures.
• Assist the dentist during exams, fillings, extractions, crowns, and other procedures.
• Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays).
• Ensure sterilization and infection control guidelines are followed.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Support front desk operations and scheduling; take vital signs as needed.
