Job summary

The State of Colorado invites applications for a Dental Assistant at the Sterling Correctional Facility. You will assist the dentist, manage sterilization, assay scheduling, and maintain infection control in a secure clinical setting.

Responsibilities include x-ray operation, instrument setup, patient education, waste management, and ensuring regulatory compliance while supporting ACA filings. A valid dental assisting credential and CO certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time professional Dental Assistant experience providing chair-side assistance to adults.
• Substitution: accredited dental assisting program may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentist in routine and emergency dental care in a prison setting.
• Manage clinic operations: scheduling, infection control, tool control, waste handling, and radiation safety.
• Educate inmates on preventive dental health care and assist with prosthetic case progression.
